Ohlédnutí za rokem 2018 je myslím velmi příjemné, rok byl plný bohatých zážitků a úspěchů, ne jenom těch výstavních ale hlavně chovatelských. V první polovině roku odcestoval zbytek štěňátek z vrhu D do nových domovů, o štěňátka z tohoto početného vrhu (8 pejsků a 4 fenky) projevilo zájem hned několik významných chovatelů nebo milovníků basetů z celého světa, vrh D se tedy rozjel do různých koutů světa (Jihoafrická republika, Nový Zéland, Las Vegas, Californie, Texas, Francie, Rakousko i Česko). Poslední opouštěl rodný domov pejsek Dr. Peper, kvůli dodržení předepsaných podmínek, které pro import na Novém Zélandu platí, musel podstoupit sérii vyšetření, ošetření a krevních testů, věk štěněte musí být minimálně 9 měsíců a tak jsem měl možnost, pořádně si Pepera užít. Hned z jara jsem měl tu čest přivítat ve své chovatelské stanici uznávanou celoživotní chovatelku basetů, rozhodčí all-round a specialistu na basety z Nového Zélandu, paní Maree McKenzie, právě ta si přiletěla vybrat pejska (Dr. Pepera). Než však mohl odejít, měl jsem možnost, přihlásit ho ještě v Česku na klubovou výstavu, jejíž hlavní cenou bývá dovolená na ostrově Cres v Chorvatsku. Na této výstavě se předváděla také sestra Delicious Drambuie a moje nejstarší fena ve třídě vereránů - Yollie Bohemia Horrido, ta si vedla perfektně a byla obdivována přítomnými lidmi, jak skvěle v jejím věku vypadá. Dr. Peper se svou sestrou si vedli také báječně, oba získali první místo ve třídě dorostu, Peper navíc získal ocenění BIS puppy z obou dnů, podle pravidel tedy postoupil do soutěže o hlavní cenu - dovolenou na Cresu. Nedá se popsat ten okamžik, kdy rozhodčí ukázal jako na vítěze na mne s Peperem, bylo to neuvěřitelné a byl jsem na něho moc pyšný, v tu chvíli jsem věděl, že si Maree vybrala jak nejlépe mohla, což se potvrdilo také později na Novém Zélandu, kde během krátké doby získal ty nekrásnější tituly a stal se junioršampionem. Delicious Drambuie, kterou jsem si z vrhu D nechal, poté ve zbytku roku cestovala po výstavách v Česku i po Evropě, byli jsme na Světové výstavě psů v Holandském Amsterdamu, kde jsme s dalšími chovateli strávili moc pěkný týden a podívali jsme se na mnoho krásných míst i k moři, dále jsme byli na Evropské výstavě psů v Polské Waršavě, také jsme byli na Slovensku a výstavní sezonu jsme zakončili v překrásném Rakouském Vánočním Welsu. Když přidám již zmiňovanou dovolenou na Cresu, která byla úžasná, myslím že rok 2018 neměl chybu. Na úplné zakončení roku však přišla ještě jedna krásná událost, Perla porodila její třetí a zároveň poslední vrh štěňátek, vrh E se narodil 29.12.2018 a otcem byl Anglický pes Woferlow Liberty Bell, z tohoto spojení se narodili tři pejsci a pět fenek.

Looking back at the year 2018 is very pleasant, I think. It was the year full of rich experiences and much success, not only those at the dog shows but also as for breeding. In the first half of the year the rest of the litter D travelled to their new homes. There were several significant breeders or basset lovers worldwide who showed being interested in the puppies from this big litter (8 dogs and 4 bitches). So the litter D travelled to various parts of the world (The Republic of South Africa, New Zealand, Las Vegas, California, Texas, France, Austria, Czech Republic). The last one who left his home was the dog Dr. Peper because of the need to follow the special import conditions valid in New Zealand. He had to undergo the series of investigations, treatments and blood tests; the puppet age must be minimum 9 months, so I had the chance to enjoy Peper very much. Just last spring I had the honour to welcome Mrs. Maree McKenzie from New Zealand, the important all-life breeder of bassets, all-round arbiter and the basset expert. It was she who flew here to choose a little dog (Dr. Peper). However, before he could leave, I had had the chance to apply him in the Czech Republic for the club dog show the main prize of which the holiday in the isle of Cres in Croatia. At this dog show there were also shown his sister Delicious Drambuie and my oldest bitch in the veteran class – Yollie Bohemia Horrido. She did very well and was admired by the present people how great she looks at her age. Dr. Peper and his sister were wonderful, too, both won the first place in the puppy class. Moreover, Peper won the prize BIS puppy on both days; based on the rules he progressed to the competition to get the main prize – the holiday in Cres. This moment cannot be described how I felt when the arbiter showed me and Peper as winners, it was incredible and I was very proud of him. At this moment I was sure Maree had chosen best as she could, which had been confirmed later in New Zealand when during a short time he won the most beautiful titles and became a junior champion. Delicious Drambuie which I kept from the litter D travelled in the rest of the year and took part in the dog shows in the Czech Republic and Europe. We were at the World dog show in Amsterdam (The Netherlands) where we spent a very nice week with other breeders and visited many beautiful places, got the seaside. Further on we were at the European dog show in Polish Warsaw, we also went to Slovakia and the exhibition season was finished in the beautiful Austrian Christmas Wels. When I add the above mentioned holiday in Cres which was amazing, the year 2018 had no mistake, I think. The very end we had another outstanding event – Perla had her third and at the same time the last one litter of puppies, the litter E was born on 29 December 2018 and the father the English dog Woferlow Liberty Bell. Three dog and five bitches were born from this connection.
